Full line-up: Arctic Monkeys and Guns N’ Roses have been announced as the final two Glastonbury headliners, with Sir Elton John topping the bill.
The Rocket Man singer’s performance is the final UK show of his record-breaking Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
Elton previously announced a final show in 2019 after vowing never to tour again, but he has since turned around and is back on tour for a “quiet break at home” – with his current tour now his last is.
Of the announcement, Elton said: “I couldn’t be more excited to be headlining the Pyramid Stage.
“The end of my Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour is drawing to a close and there is no more fitting way to say goodbye to my UK fans. You have been beyond brilliant and supported me through all the ups and downs of my career.
“I talk to new artists every week on my radio show and Glastonbury is often cited as a defining moment in launching their careers – the festival’s genuine, enthusiastic support for the best emerging talent is something I have long admired.
“I’ve been talking to Emily Eavis about this for the past few weeks and I can’t wait to embrace the spirit of the biggest festival on earth. It gets incredibly emotional.”
Meanwhile, Blondie drummer Clem Burke recently confirmed the band will be performing at the festival.
Speaking to Foxy Radio, he revealed that the band will be playing other festivals after their performance at Crystal Palace Park with Iggy Pop on July 1.

Clem said: “We’re also doing the Isle of Wight Festival and a few other festivals… I don’t think the full list of artists who will be playing Glastonbury has really been announced yet… but we will be playing Glastonbury, so maybe you have an exclusive.” copy there.’
Formed by Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein, Blondie last performed on the Other Stage at Glastonbury in 2014 and released their hits on the Pyramid Stage in 1999.
Last year’s Glastonbury headliners were Billie Eilish, Sir Paul McCartney and Kendrick Lamar.
As excitement rages over the upcoming festival, music fans have slammed Glastonbury organizers for pandering to “common people” and turning it into a festival “exclusively for the rich” after ticket prices for 2023 fell by almost 20 per cent to £340 rose
Standard tickets are £335 plus £5 booking fee, with a £50 deposit and balance due the first week of April.
The last time tickets went on general sale was in 2019 when they cost £280 plus a £5 booking fee for the 2020 festival, but this was then canceled for two years due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The criticism forced festival organizer Emily Eavis to defend the price hike, citing “incredibly challenging times”.

Wow: Blondie drummer Clem Burke has confirmed the band are going to Glastonbury 2023 (L-R Tommy Kessler, Matt Katz-Bohen, Clem, Debbie Harry, Chris Stein and Leigh Foxx)
She said: “We have tried very hard to reduce the ticket price increases but we are facing massive cost increases to run this massive show while still recovering from the huge financial impact of two years without a festival due to Covid.
“The deposit of £50 on ticket sale day in November is the same as always, with the balance not being paid until April.
“And as always, many thousands of people will have the opportunity to come as volunteers or as crew members.
“During these incredibly challenging times, our desire to continue to bring you the best show on earth and provide funds to our charities is more important than ever. As always, we are very grateful for your continued support.”
