Kelly Ripa can’t stop gushing that her husband Mark Consuelos will be her next co-host of ABC’s morning talk show Live With Kelly and Ryan.
Following the news of Ryan Seacrest’s departure from the show after six years, the Emmy winner, 52, announced she was excited to work with her 51-year-old husband, who she met in 1995 when she appeared on the soap All was My children played together.
“Mark and I owe everything we have in our professional lives to ABC. We met there early in our careers and got married and had our kids while we were there,” she told Us Weekly.
The mother-of-three continued, “So many great moments happened while we were on ABC, so it only makes sense that we come full circle and reunite for the show that gave us so much joy and so many years.” prepare Memories.’
The couple, who have three children together, Michael, 25, Joaquin, 19, and Lola, 21, are happily married after eloping in Las Vegas after dating for less than a year.

Her interview came just a day after a source exclusively told DailyMail.com that ABC executives were delighted when Ryan Seacrest decided to resign.
ABC has reportedly long wanted Ripa to work on the show with Consuelos on a permanent basis and hopes that ratings for the show will skyrocket.
“ABC was keen to replace Seacrest with Mark,” an insider told DailyMail.com. “Mark and Kelly have TV magic. Viewers can’t get enough of watching the sparks fly between them as he fills in for Ryan.”
“They wanted to capitalize on it, so there weren’t exactly tears when Ryan brought up the idea of leaving,” a senior television source explained shortly after the ubiquitous personality made his announcement on Thursday’s Live with Kelly and Ryan.
Seacrest has missed several shows without explanation, Yahoo News reports, angering producers.
Consuelos revealed in an Instagram story that he was called to the Jan. 30 show “at the last minute” and when Seacrest returned the next day, he offered no explanation for his absence.
Sometimes the show’s resident DJ Déjà Vu filled in for Seacrest on short notice when Consuelos was unavailable.
His time has just come. He played his part in replacing Michael Strahan and has done well for six years. And ABC has always appreciated that.

Statistics show how popular Consuelos is when he performs with his wife. Tweets mentioning the show peaked at 243% on January 30th when it emerged. There were also big highlights on February 15 and September 26 last year when he performed.
Still, Live is the top-rated daytime talk show, regularly watched by around 2.3 million people.
Speaking on Thursday’s show, Seacrest said, “I’ve made the decision to make this my last season on Live with Kelly and Ryan — which is bittersweet.”
He did not go into detail about what prompted him to stake out new pastures in the sky.
He later said in a statement: “Working with Kelly for the past six years has been a dream job and one of the highlights of my career.

“It’s been an unforgettable ride and now I’m looking forward to passing the baton to Kelly’s ‘real life’ husband Mark.”
