After fans accused the ‘Try’ singer, 43, of casting ‘shadow’ over the ‘Lady Marmalade’ collaborator, 42, her mother of two took Twitter to clarify things. “They’re crazy,” she tweeted on Sunday Feb. 19. “Xtina had a lot to do with who was in that song.”
The drama began after Pink ranked their iconic 2001 collaboration “Lady Marmalade” at the bottom of their “most iconic music videos” during an interview with buzz feed. Admitting some trepidation on set, the “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” singer revealed that the beloved video “wasn’t very fun to make.”
“I like fun,” she said, “and there was a lot of noise and there were some personalities.” Touching where the tension was, Pink said that she and Christina’s other co-workers, little Kim AND My, “it was nice” to work. (miss elliottwho produced the song, also appeared on the single and video).
Pink’s tweet clarified her comments, explaining why she didn’t intend to call X-Tina in any way. “If you don’t already know, I’m not ‘upshadowing’ someone by repeatedly telling you what really happened,” she wrote.
His tweet ended on a heated note, as he told the audience, “I have no interest in your fucking drama. If you haven’t noticed, I’m kind of busy selling… And by selling, I mean tickets and albums and candy sales and stuff.
Pink and Christina dealt with their long-standing rivalry in the years following their success. The “So What” singer recalled how the incident started, telling VH1 behind the music as a record executive tried to claim the best song parts for the “Genie In A Bottle” singer.
In the 2009 special, he recalled someone at the reunion asking, “What’s the high end?” What is the most sung part? Christina will take on that role.’” But Pink didn’t take it. “I stood up and said ‘Hi. How is it going? I’m glad you showed up. I’m pink she will not accept this role. I think that’s why the fucking reunion is about.
Pink’s tweet ended up letting everyone know that he wasn’t just doing lip service to his former rival. Reminding everyone that the couple kissed once, she wrote: “Also, I kissed xtina’s mouth. I don’t need to kiss her**.

Pink confirmed the party story, telling Variety in 2021, they kissed at one of his birthday parties. “It was a fun party,” she reflected.
