In the latest episode of Bravo, the long-awaited wedding gets its proper showcase, though viewers will have to tune in to see how it plays out…and if the couple can make it down the aisle! According to Amrit, who EXCLUSIVELY spoke with hollywood lifeHe and Nicholas came close to calling it off before the cameras started rolling!
“It’s absolutely gotten to that point,” Amrit admitted, while acknowledging that the various challenges of a gay marriage with conservative parents (on both sides) can turn into a dramatic experience. “It got to a point where things got really real and issues came up that hadn’t come up before and it was the first time.”
Amrit said the uncertainty began to build as the week of the wedding began. “Our guests were due to arrive the next day and that’s when I knew we were bringing these issues and baggage and insecurities to the table. There was a moment where we thought, why did we do this? I don’t know if it would be as drastic as canceling it, even if there was that thought, but more than that it was like, ‘Why, why did we do this? Why did we need public exposure of our marriage? And is it worth it?’ Certainly there were those thoughts.
While the couple didn’t call off their wedding, it’s yet to be determined whether they made it down the aisle, so TUNE IN! And while Amrit couldn’t spill the tea on what happened last episode, she did speak up about the family karma cast members who were so helpful in planning the wedding!
“It was Monica and it was Bali,” Amrit replied without hesitation. “She was Monica because she’s like our dance guru. She is like the dance teacher of the group. She did ours. You taught Nicholas a solo, which viewers will see. And Bali, because he really came at the last minute. We wanted to include a custom sail and dropped the ball by shipping them on time. He came in and seriously, within 48 hours we received the confirmation request. She knows how to do things. The entire cast was super supportive, but they definitely helped with those specific tasks.
As for Amrit and Nicholas’ plans to become parents, the handsome lawyer said the couple has received a lot of love and support from their team, including their conservative parents. “I always tell myself, and I tell Nicholas, that you should have honest and open conversations with your parents because they are learning just like you. They don’t know how to handle this situation. We didn’t know how to handle this situation. We’re improvising most of the time.”
Amrit also revealed that he and Nichaolas are keeping in-laws updated as they continue to research the different places to become parents, including adoption. “We have brought up this conversation and I know they are very excited to have grandkids in the picture. So we’ve had those conversations and we’ll continue to have those important conversations with them because we want them to be a part of our lives at the end of the day.”
