Ashton Kutcher has publicly apologized to hitmaker Harry Styles for a deeply awkward encounter at a mutual friend’s karaoke party.
The 44-year-old actor admitted he had no idea who the former One Direction singer was when they first met, which led to him making some embarrassing comments.
Ashton revealed in an interview with Esquire that he and actress wife Mila Kunis were attending their neighbor’s lavish party when the awkward encounter happened.
He explained that he left in awe after watching a partygoer perform ABBA and felt compelled to praise the performance.
As it turns out, the artist was Harry, 29, and Ashton was none the wiser.

Ashton recalls, “I was like, ‘Man, I have to tell you something.’ You are like a karaoke ringtone. You’re really good, really, really good.’”
The singer humbly thanked him and said he “appreciated” the compliment.
To Ashton’s shock, his friend then told him it was a famous singer and his wife Mila had to explain that Harry is indeed a big name in the music world and part of One Direction.
Ashton recalls: “I was like, ‘Oh my god, now I feel like an idiot'”. He’s a professional singer and we’re trying to tell him he’s a good singer!’
He then issued a public apology via the magazine, saying: “I just really want to say I’m sorry Harry Styles. But you’re really good at karaoke, man. Seriously, really good.”
It comes after Harry was officially added to the growing list of cast members at the 2023 Grammy Awards, which take place on February 5.
The ‘As It Was’ hitmaker has been nominated for a whopping six awards for his record-breaking album Harry’s House, which was released in May 2022.
Harry’s House is the former One Direction member’s third solo studio album since the boy band went on “permanent hiatus” in August 2015.

The Don’t Worry Darling act had the second-busiest opening week for an album in 2022, behind Taylor Swift’s Midnights.
He also had four songs from the album on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, making him the first British solo artist to do so, and of all British acts, he joined The Beatles in achieving the feat in 1964 .
As It Was spent 15 consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard chart, becoming the longest US number one by a UK act and the fourth longest running number one in the chart’s history.

Harry previously appeared at the Grammys in 2021 wearing a stunning leather outfit, completely shirtless.
At the 2021 Grammy Awards, the Watermelon Sugar singer was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album – Fine Line, Best Music Video – Adore You and Best Pop Solo Performance – Watermelon Sugar, for which he took home the awards.
He has been nominated for the top three most prestigious awards for Album of the Year 2023, Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
He was also nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Music Video.
Star power: It comes after Harry, who has been nominated for six Grammy Awards, was officially announced as one of the cast members at the 2023 ceremony, which will take place on February 5.
