There is nothing more exciting than hitting the road on a mighty two-wheeled steel horse, until you finish. So, it’s not that fun to ride a motorcycle. When you take all the proper safety precautions to ride a motorcycle safely, accidents happen and have happened to some of your favorite stars. From Keanu Reeves to Brad Pitt to Ann Margaret, some of Hollywood’s biggest stars have crashed and burned.

jay leno it is one of those stars. Months after suffering severe burns to his face and hands from a fuel leak in one of his classic cars, Leno was involved in another accident. The old tonight’s program The presenter was testing a classic Indian motorcycle from the 1940s when he noticed that it smelled like leaking petrol. He took the vehicle for a test drive, but someone had laid a wire in an unmarked parking lot. Leno was strapped to his bicycle, which resulted in a broken collarbone, two broken ribs, and two broken kneecaps. Though he was in pain, the 72-year-old comedian was in good spirits.

Leno, pictured here in 2005, got lucky. So are the following celebrities.

Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt was involved in a minor motorcycle accident in 2009. He was passing between a parked car and a stopped car at a red light when Brad hit the parked car with the handlebar. Pitt lost control of the bike and crashed, but only sustained a few scratches, according to Top Speed. Brad checked his bike and spoke to the other party involved. A tow truck arrived and took the bike away as Brad drove off.

Keanu Reeves He is an avid motorcyclist, to the point of founding his own custom motorcycle company: ARCH Motorcycle. So, hopefully he’s had a few leaks and closes, but one stands out for him. In 1988, when he was 23, he was pedaling along Topanga Canyon Boulevard, one of the winding links between the Los Angeles Valley and the Pacific Ocean, according to Rolling Stone. He fell and had to have his damaged spleen removed. He was left with a thick scar running from his stomach.

“I call it a demon trip,” Reeves told Rolling Stone. “That’s when things go wrong. But there are other times when you go fast, or too fast, for joy. I remember saying in my head, ‘I’m going to die.’

Arnold Schwarzenegger he required fifteen stitches to his lip in 2006 after colliding with a car. At the time, Arnold was the governor of California, riding his Harley Davidson down the road with his 12-year-old son, patrick schwarzeneggerwhen another driver backed onto the road. Arnold was unable to avoid the impact and fell at low speed. Both the “Terminator” star and her son wore helmets, and aside from a few cuts and bruises, everything was fine.

David Hasseloff and his then wife, pamela bach, He was walking through Los Angeles when he crashed his Harley near a freeway overpass. A gust of wind forced David to lose control and crash into a curb. David and Pamela were thrown off the bike. He badly broke his ankle and wrist, while David reportedly broke his back. Pamela later said that the incident was the breaking point in her marriage and became a contentious issue during her divorce.

adrien brody was involved in a serious motorcycle accident in 1992. He hit a car and hit the curb headfirst. Understandably, Adrien hasn’t walked in quite a while. However, when a friend gave him a Ducati Monster, he couldn’t help but get back on his bike (h/t Auto Evolution).

Billy idol he nearly lost his leg in a motorcycle accident in 1990. He was riding his Harley Davidson in Los Angeles when he passed a stop sign and collided with a car. Idol was not wearing a helmet and was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Doctors operated on Billy for seven hours to fix his broken forearm and save his right leg, which was broken between the knee and ankle.

Billy later told Classic Rock that the incident had a silver lining. He wrote about it in his song “Bitter Taste”. He said the key was him “reflecting on this incident: Was it a terrible thing, or was it really a good thing, where I took stock of everything and started realizing that I needed to control myself in terms of my addiction?”

ann-margretthe co-star Elvis Presley inside live vegas, suffered three broken ribs and a fractured shoulder in 1997. The then 59-year-old was riding his bike in rural Minnesota when he hit a patch of sand. She was thrown off the motorcycle and landed hard. Fortunately, she managed to escape the accident.

lauren huttona supermodel who appeared in 25 Fashion copper, fell in 2000 while riding a motorcycle. He was traveling with a group through the rocky desert of Las Vegas when he got separated from the group traveling 100 miles to celebrate the upcoming opening of the Hermitage-Guggenheim museum. Jeremy Irons he saw her lying on the side of the road and gave her a helmet with a visor, replacing the open helmet.

While pedalling, he skidded in a corner and the bike lost grip on the road. Hutton traveled about 30 meters before taking off. “He got lost in a curve, a very slow curve,” Irons said, according to ABC News. “He ended up on the gravel by the side of the road and skidded slowly, which is very difficult to pass when driving a car. [that] speed and finally hit the shore and then flew through the air.

He landed on a pile of rocks. Both of Lauren’s legs were broken, as were her arms. She also smashed three ribs and punctured a lung. She miraculously survived the accident.

ben roethlisberger he was in “serious” condition after a crash in 2006. He underwent several hours of surgery to repair “multiple facial fractures” after being involved in a crash without wearing a helmet. He was driving on a road and was heading towards an intersection when a driver of a Chrysler, traveling in the opposite direction, made a left turn and collided with the motorcycle. Ben was thrown off his motorcycle, hitting the windshield of the car and then hitting the ground first, according to ESPN. Fortunately, his brain, spine, chest and abdomen were not seriously injured.

In 1988, Gary Busy tried to maneuver his Harley-Davidson around a bus, but accidentally swerved too far. He started to skid and hit the rear brake, sending him flying over the windshield and onto the curb. He wasn’t wearing a helmet and almost “died after brain surgery and went the other way,” he said in a 2020 interview with The Guardian.
