It’s no secret that Married At First Sight has featured some of the nastiest behavior in its 10-year history, with rumors that the upcoming season will see some of its most outrageous behavior yet.
But now MAFS bosses have insisted there is no villain on TV, despite the show featuring some of the most iconic characters of all time.
Tara McWilliams, who is credited with turning the experiment into today’s ratings, insisted there was no such thing as a “rogue edit” and that any negative action was just the result of “bad decisions.”

“I don’t think anyone is a villain. They’re not storybook characters, they’re real people who sometimes misbehave,” McWilliams told Daily Mail Australia.
That doesn’t make them bad people. I think a show like this is where you get the best encounter, and the intensity of the experience makes people act in ways that even surprise them.
“I think there’s going to be some controversial people in Season 10 — absolutely.”
McWilliams argues that while these people make bad decisions, they are ultimately good people, and it’s important to remember that.

Tara explained that in many cases these people are struggling with issues that are at the root of their bad behavior.
It is often insecurity, fear or a lack of confidence that is taken into account when casting for the show.
“It’s all about the relationships that we have because that’s what you’ve come to expect from the show,” added expert John Aiken.
‘[We want] People talk about their relationships or their past patterns or how they want to do things differently.”

Aiken admitted that he had no problem with misbehaving, adding that this season will feature some of the worst behavior we’ve seen on the show.
“I’m not here to take sides. I’m not here to be friends. I literally only have one role to play, which is to hold up the mirror to patterns, because a lot of people on the new series have no idea why they’re single or what they’re like in a relationship,” he explained.
“My task is to make them aware of this. Now some of them will cringe, they don’t want to hear it,” he continued.

“Others say, ‘Thanks, I’ll do it differently.'” I love this role, but I do it in a way that it’s not. It’s objective, I would say. Yes, that’s my role.”
In the new season of MAFS, the experts will address a range of topics including racism, gaslighting and narcissistic behaviour.
According to early sources, one groom has already been called “worse than Bryce,” while another newlywed has accused each other of “cheating on each other” and playing mind games.
Pundit John Aiken admitted that he has no problem calling out bad behavior, adding that this season will feature some of the worst behavior we’ve seen on the show.
“Gaslighting is brought up again, but other things about the way people interact in relationships, which to us — we think we’ve seen it all — are shocking…” McWilliams told Variety last week.
“If we’re still in shock, then you know the content is pretty risky,” she continued.
“We have scandals again, but scandals you haven’t seen. And that’s what I love about it, the reality that the gods really smiled on us,” she added.
