Emma Roberts recently celebrated a milestone when she joined screen icon Richard Gere with her aunt Julia Roberts.
Walking the red carpet with the 73-year-old actor for a screening of their new Cinema Society film Maybe I Will on Tuesday, the 31-year-old actress opened up about her collaboration with Gere as she spoke to Page Six.
“I loved him in Runaway Bride and Pretty Woman,” she said, choosing the two romantic comedies he did with Julia.
“Obviously he worked with my aunt,” she said, “so it felt like working full circle with him.”

Gere’s decade-long connection with her family made it “so meaningful” for him to star as her father in the new romantic comedy.
Making a rare appearance with Richard at the show was his wife Alejandra Silva, a publicist 30 years his junior.
The film is a star-studded affair with an ensemble cast that includes Diane Keaton, Susan Sarandon, Emma’s Holidate co-star Luke Bracey and William H. Macy.
Roberts’ character faces some awkward interactions after learning that her in-laws have had affairs in first-time writer Michael Jacobs’ film.

The casting was a treasure trove for Roberts, who also believed in working with Keaton, who appears as her character’s mother.
She cited some of the Annie Hall star’s previous films, including Baby Boom and The First Wives Club, as touchstones for her.
“I feel like I could watch a Diane Keaton live all day because she’s just so funny and so smart and so talented,” Roberts gushed. Even her mannerisms are so Diane Keaton. So it was very nice to share a little break with her.”

“I definitely invested in a really comfortable pair of sneakers because he’s faster than me now and almost my height,” she said. “I will soon be overwhelmed. He just turned two and we had a really sweet birthday party. This is the best.’
Emma shares her son with her ex Garrett Hedlund. She split from the Tulsa King actor in December 2021 after a two-year romance.
Since moving from Hedlund, Roberts began dating Cade Hudson, who happened to be her agent at Creative Artists Agency.
In August, she moved on with actor Cody John.
