The late David Crosby and his wife Jan Dance attend a special screening of ‘David Crosby: Remember My Name’ presented by Sony Pictures Classics and The Cinema Society in New York City on July 19, 2019. The singer wore his knitted hat at the crocheted in a blue shirt and black jacket as he snuggled next to his wife. Jan herself looked elegant in a simple black dress with a gold necklace.

David married his wife Jan in 1987, but the two have not had children. However, David was the father of six children, including fathering two with his friend Melissa Etheridge and his partner Julie Cypher: the late Beckett and Bailey. His eldest son is James Raymond, whom he dated Celia Crawford Ferguson when he was just 21 years old. He then welcomed daughter Erika Keller Crosby with ex Jackie Guthrie, followed by daughter Donovan Crosby with Debbie Donovan. He and his wife Jan also have a son, Django Crosby.

David sadly passed away on January 19, 2023 after a “long illness,” his wife confirmed. “It is with great sadness, after a long illness, that our beloved David (Croz) Crosby has passed away,” Jan told Variety in a statement. “He was lovingly surrounded by his wife and soul mate Jan and their son Django. Even though he is no longer here with us, his humanity and kind soul will continue to guide and inspire us.”

“His legacy will live on through his legendary music,” he continued. “Peace, love and harmony to all who knew David and those he touched. We will miss him a lot. At this time, we respectfully and graciously ask for privacy as we grieve and try to deal with our profound loss. Thanks for the love and prayers,” she added.
