The house was previously destroyed by fire in November 2015, which destroyed all of Mathis’ possessions except for a few mementos.
More than 40 firefighters tried to put out the fire, which caused the house’s roof to collapse.
Mathis was returning to Los Angeles after a show in Cleveland at the time and told reporters at the time that he was thankful no one was injured in the fire.
“It’s fine, nobody got hurt — that’s always important — we can always replace things,” he told KTLA5. “I was very happy, I could have been here, I could have been in bed. “I’m very happy, a little sad of course, but very happy.”
