Sally Field, 76, is being honored with a Screen Actors Guild Lifetime Achievement Award … after starring in a string of hits including Gidget and Forrest Gump

Sally Field will soon add another statue to her mantle: the 2023 Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award.

In a statement announcing the decision to honor the 76-year-old actress for her work over the past six decades – including the classic films Mrs. Doubtfire and Forrest Gump – said SAG-AFTRA chairman Fran Drescher, 65: “Sally is a huge star with a working actor ethos – just keep going, be the best you can be.”

The ceremony will take place at the 29th annual SAG Awards on February 26 in Los Angeles.

“Every stage in an actor’s life brings different opportunities, and you just have to keep working. Sally doesn’t stop and we hope she never does,” she added.

The actress who shouted: ‘You like me! Now! You like me!’ When she won her second Oscar for Best Actress in 1984 in Places in the Heart, Hollywood is no stranger.

Sally, who won hearts and fans in the 1965 series of the same name as the beach-loving teenager Gidget and later in such light-hearted roles as The Flying Nun and The Girl With Something Extra, worked hard to find even more substantial roles after that series ended.

The Sybil star received critical acclaim and her first Emmy in 1977 for her portrayal of a young woman with multiple personality disorder.

She has won two other Emmy Awards, two Golden Globes and two British Academy Film Awards.

She was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play for her role in the revival of The Glass Menagerie.

The football legend admitted that she was with the legendary actress in his Let’s Go! Podcast Monday. “We had a little thing in front of the camera, so it was really fun. “We really enjoyed our time together so we’ll see how it goes.”
