Criminal Minds’ Shemar Moore has revealed he is just a month away from becoming a father after he started worrying “the ship has sailed” on The Jennifer Hudson Show.
While speaking with the 41-year-old EGOT winner’s talk show host on Monday, the 52-year-old actor revealed the exciting news that he is preparing to welcome his first child.
The father-to-be said that on the three-year anniversary of his mother’s death on February 8, 2020, he will “soon be a father.”

“On February 8, I’m going to make one of her dreams come true, because in real life, Shemar Moore is going to be a father,” he said to applause from the audience.
Congratulations!’ Hudson told him. “That’s news! And your mother will be so proud and smiling at you from heaven.’
Moore then said: “I’m sorry she can’t be here. For a while I was afraid that the ship might have sailed.

Although he feels his life is already “pretty awesome”, Moore predicted fatherhood will be “the best” experience.
In 2016, the SWAT star announced that he was retiring from Criminal Minds and his beloved character Derek Morgan to focus on his family.
“I need balance in my life. I love what I do for a living, I love everything from action to haircuts, but I also want to walk my dogs, travel, get married, have kids. I want a balance and that’s hard to achieve with the schedule we have,” he told TV Line at the time.
