Brendan Fraser on The Whale’s emotional challenges, whether there’s another ‘mother’ in his future and why he’s ‘more famous and unpaid’ than ever

With nominations and awards at a furious clip for his remarkable performance as £600 teacher Charlie in Darren Aronofsky’s film adaptation of writer Sam Hunter’s play. the whale, There is reason to believe that this film, which will almost certainly earn Brendan Fraser his first Oscar nomination, will be a “comeback” of sorts for the star.
