And over the festive period, Joely Richardson (57) shared a beautiful photo of her late sister with her widower Liam Neeson (70) after her phone offered it as a keepsake.

The Patriot actress took to Instagram, where she posted the beautiful black and white photo and revealed how it made her “laugh out loud” when she first came across it three years ago.

“Tash in all her glory!” During the festive period, Joely Richardson (57) shared a stunning photo of her late sister Natasha with widower Liam Neeson (70) after her phone offered the memory.

Alongside the photo, Joely wrote: “I was staying at a hotel in Dublin a few years ago and I missed my sister Natasha very much.

As I walked through the lobby on a screen this image appeared as “past guests” – I smiled broadly. My phone just sent it to me as a reminder. Tash in all her glory.”

Eight months after Natasha’s shock death, Joely told Tatler: “I wouldn’t have lived a day of my life without her.” You worry about your children and your elders, but I never suggested such a thing. Tash was given to me.

“The shock shatters you on a cellular level and it takes time for the pieces to come back together, albeit in a different formation.”

Natasha died at the age of 45 from an epidural hematoma (bleeding around the brain) two days after hitting her head during a 2009 beginner ski class in Quebec, Canada.

Speaking to CBS’ Anderson Cooper about losing his wife in 2014, Liam Neeson recalled arriving at the hospital and being told by doctors that she was brain dead from her accident.

He said: “She was on a ventilator… I went to her and told her I loved her. I said, “Honey, you’re not coming back, you hit your head.”

“She and I made an agreement that if one of us went into a vegetative state, we would pull the plug. That was my first thought, “Okay, these tubes have to go.

Liam and Maid In Manhattan star Natasha married in 1994 and share two sons, actor Micheál (27) and fashion designer Daniel (26).

A source told MailOnline at the time: “He told her he wanted to spend more time in New York and really wanted to spend more time with his children.

“Freya wants something more serious, but Liam thinks it’s too soon. His wife just died three years ago, he wants to take it easy.’
