Brazilian influencer Bruna Biancardi has announced the arrival of a new dachshund puppy to her growing family with football star Neymar.
The 30-year-old social media personality shared the news on Sunday, September 6, introducing the pet to her followers. In Brazil, the dachshund breed is widely recognised by the popular nickname salsicha. Photographs posted online showed the puppy enjoying affectionate moments with the couple's daughters, Mavie and Mel, as well as resting in the lap of the Santos forward.
Family debate over puppy names
Writing in the caption of her Instagram post, Biancardi welcomed the small dog into their household while revealing that the family had not yet agreed on an exact name. She explained that two-year-old Mavie originally selected Luizo before changing her mind to Pepete, while Matteo suggested combining both options into Pelu.
The social media update quickly drew warm reactions from several fellow Brazilian celebrities. Influencer Carol Dantas, who has a son with Neymar named Davi Lucca, left a comment describing the puppy as adorable, while television personality and model Ana Paula Siebert remarked on how beautiful the dog was.
Dachshunds, originally developed in Germany as scent hounds, are distinguished by their long bodies, paddle-shaped front paws, and short legs. Often referred to colloquially as sausage dogs or wiener dogs, the breed has become a staple family companion globally, valued for its playful temperament and protective nature around children.

The addition of the puppy comes shortly after Neymar inadvertently revealed the name of his fourth child, who will be his third daughter with Biancardi. The Santos attacker shared an image on his Instagram stories depicting artwork created by the family, accompanied by signatures from Biancardi and their children.
Attention centered on the signature of the couple's unborn baby girl, which confirmed her name will be Mariah. With the new arrival, all three daughters born to Neymar and Biancardi will share names beginning with the letter M, joining two-year-old Mavie and one-year-old Mel.
