This year, the holidays come with a renewed illusion. Finally free from all limitations, they regain their splendor so that we can celebrate them the way we really like it: in company and in style. That is why we will see a lot of shine, luxury and exuberance in outfits, hairstyles and make-up. In this sense, hair accessories are going to play a leading role, because in full Christmas buzz, no one will be able to resist decorating their hair.
Two of our trend experts propose the best hair looks that adhere to the “more is more” philosophy and bubble up these parties with energy.
Jewel hairpin to sublimate an up-do
Charo García, director of Ilitia Beauty & Science, in Balmaseda (Bizkaia) proposes a look that will undoubtedly attract all eyes: “This updo is flattering, comfortable and easier to create than it looks. Start by making a two-strand side braid and secure it into a low ponytail from behind. Gently open the braid with your fingers for volume and this beautiful, natural look. With the hair left loose, make a bun in a bun with two or three parts depending on the length of your hair. Finally, add a jewel where the braid ends and the ponytail begins. These kinds of details make our updos even more special.”
Gold accessories, the favorites
Gold accessories will be the main stars of this holiday season. As Mª José Llata, director of Peluquería Llata Carrera, in Santa Cruz de Bezana (Cantabria), explains: “Gold is a very bright color, which gives the appearance strength and personality. Therefore, a simple detail in this shade is enough to take any hairstyle to the next level, without the need for major complications. I especially love using gold threads to enhance looks that seem simpler at first glance, such as high ponytails or bubble style ponytails. They can also appear intertwined with some hair strands: for example, when making a headband braid or several thin braids strategically distributed over the mane.”
Low bun with pearls
Pearls will be your great allies to achieve the most sophisticated hairstyles. Charo García, director of Ilitia Beauty & Science, in Balmaseda (Bizkaia), proposes: “A highly polished ballerina bow, which we decorate with small pearls that we place around it. For best results, work a smooth texture and pin it back into a ponytail. Then roll it up to form a bow, making the hairstyle more durable. You can use a medium-hold product so that no unruly hair remains, although another option is to leave a few strands loose for a sweeter and more casual finish. As for the pearls, if you want a more discreet effect, you can add a few, for detail.”
Brilliant in a mane with waves
Loose hair with waves highlights our most seductive and glamorous facet. “I recommend water waves, with a slightly wet effect on the top, to reduce the weight in this area and emphasize the play of textures. To create this kind of wave, you need to work all the strands in the same direction and hold the areas where the wave occurs with tweezers so that the shape becomes clearer. Apply a curing product and wait for it to dry before releasing the clips. The big surprise of this look are these rhinestones that we distribute along the length of the hair to achieve this spectacular result,” explains Mª José Llata, director of Peluquería Llata Carrera, in Santa Cruz de Bezana (Cantabria) .
