This is how you should put on make-up after your 50th to show off beautiful and young skin every day

you only need one firsta sponge, a satin foundation, a highlighter and a liquid blush. Gisela Bosque, Sephora’s National Makeup Artist reveals how to use them once you’ve already turned 50.

‘First’, only in critical areas

What are they? Those where the make-up melts more easily (forehead, cheeks and chin) and those most affected by wrinkles that can cause the make-up to crack (eye contour, nose-lip folds, barcode…). Take one with a moisturizing effect and spread it with the help of your fingers by small touches.

Make-up base, always with a sponge

Choose a love dye luminous and with anti-aging active ingredients. Ideally, it should be a semitone lighter (yes, better a little lighter than darker) than your skin tone, and have a light pink undertone, which gives a fresh effect to the complexion. Spread it with a sponge – the result is fresher and more natural – and by means of touches that activate the blood circulation. And remember, less is more.

One last trick? Wet the sponge with a little essence or treatment tonic for extra hydration.

Highlighter, yes, but without glitter

the glitter, the glittering and metallic textures don’t go well with small wrinkles. Creamy highlighters are perfect, they look juicy and should only be applied to the highest points of the face where there are no wrinkles, such as the top of the cheekbones or below the ciliary arch.

Do not wash the sponge yet! It is the best tool to spread the blush -always liquid- and the highlighter and so that both are perfectly integrated with the rest of the make-up.

Translucent powders, the finishing touch

It’s the only concession to powder texture you have to make. Make sure they are finishing powders, which do not dry out and have a luminous effect. And, above all, spread them only on the upper part of the bridge of the nose and the middle of the forehead and chin, no more: there they serve to control the shine without highlighting expression lines.
