Drying hair with a hair dryer is one of the routine things we’re used to doing automatically, just like brushing your teeth. However, consistency does not guarantee accuracy. According to hairstyling legend Michael van Clark, most people dry their hair the wrong way, increasing the chances of breakage.
Michael calls this error “too hot, too close, too long”. All three problems are combined with a hair dryer cap. It collects too much heat and directs it to the hair, and the location close to the hair strands can dry out and damage them.

The decision comes immediately – throw the nozzle away. And, as Michael recommends, keep the hair dryer three centimeters away from the hair. Although many hairstylists recommend keeping at least 15 centimeters between the strands and the hairdryer. Another important step to remember is the use of thermal protection. Before blow-drying, spray your hair with a spray to distribute the heat evenly and allow your hair to heat up more slowly.
