Mistake #1: Applying heat protectant to wet hair
Thermal protection can be applied in different ways – immediately after washing your hair (then it will be slightly damp) or immediately before styling (on dry hair). In the first case, the hair should not be wet – you should remove excess moisture by drying the strands with a towel. Then distribute the product along the length, retreating 10 cm from the roots.
Mistake #2: Missing a heat protectant
In order for the heat protectant to do its job, it must be distributed evenly across the wires in the required amount. The latter will depend on the length and thickness of the hair. The main advice is that you should not be upset about this, every issue must be resolved. Use a tangle-free, easy-to-comb and glide comb through your hair to distribute the product evenly. If your hair is particularly thick, use wide-tooth combs.
Mistake #3: Styling wet hair
Wet hair is most vulnerable to injury. After washing your hair, it loses its elasticity, becomes brittle and sensitive and is therefore most susceptible to breakage. Wet hair should not be styled and the use of electric stylers is generally prohibited.
Mistake #4: Using the texturizer incorrectly
In order for the styling to be flexible and the hair to become denser, the texturizer must be applied to clean and dry hair. To do this, you need to spray the product from a distance of 20-30 cm from the head, so as not to get the effect of dirty hair. You can give your hair a fresher look by distributing the product both at the roots and along the entire length the next day.
Mistake #5: Applying products in the wrong order
One of the main mistakes made when styling hair at home is lack of post-wash care. First you need to apply leave-in conditioning, then style and fix the final stage of styling with varnish.
