The rapper was given an honorable task. According to The Guardian, it is known that Snoop Dogg will carry the Olympic torch on the opening day of the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
The singer will set fire to the Stade de France stadium and the new Olympic Aquatics Centre, as well as the northern Paris suburb of Saint-Denis, where part of the Olympic Village is located, on July 26. The fire will then travel to the Olympic cauldron in the Tuileries Gardens, which will be its final destination for the duration of the Games.
Snoop Dogg has over 20 million followers on the X* social network. The rapper wrote on his page: “You have to do this!! Are you going to watch? Also, the rapper will be in the French capital as a special correspondent for NBC.
Deadline reports that French celebrities who will carry the flame include rapper MC Solaar, actress Laetitia Casta, director Alice Diop, Paralympian Charles-Antoine Kouakou and rugby player Abdellatif Benazi. The name of the final torchbearer has not yet been announced.
