Alexander Ovechkin took part in Amiran Sardarov’s podcast. The result was a rather free and easy dialogue. The hockey player talked about his family life, shared his thoughts on ending his career and told what he was going to do next.

Alexander Ovechkin and his wife Anastasia Shubskaya have an eight-year age difference. However, the 38-year-old noted that they are “on the same page” and there is no misunderstanding between them. “Yes, I fell in love. And now I still love her,” he replied succinctly when asked how Sardarov managed to turn him into “an absolutely stable, calm family man.”
The couple have two children – Sergei and Ilya. The hockey star explained that after their birth, more responsibilities appeared and priorities changed. “My family, my children, my wife come first. For me it was happiness,” he said.

“You think it would be better for them if I hung out somewhere or spent an extra hour with them. Because time goes by so quickly,” she added.
Ovechkin plans to go on vacation after retiring from his career: “I want to visit several countries. It is clear that at first we will relax and enjoy life, but then we will have to look for our own business, which will bring pleasure to both me and those around me.” The athlete admitted that he wants to visit Japan, Africa and China.

He also shared his formula for success: “Everything has to come together in one big ball: work, health, luck, I don’t know, the training process. It’s actually very difficult to understand exactly what makes it happen. I think it’s all together.”
