Status help: how to remove stubborn lipstick from lips

In our “Help Case” section we tell you what to do in case of various beauty incidents. How to fix a broken nail, revive dried mascara or salvage broken powder, eyeshadow or blush – we will answer one question in each material. Next, there is a problem that we encounter less often, but for a long time – the removal of long-lasting matte lipstick or tint from the lips. We are talking about cases where simple micellar water or cleansing gel is not enough. Then what? Here are some ways to remove stubborn makeup from your lips.

Method number 1: Using Vaseline

One of the simplest but most effective ways to remove stubborn lipstick is ordinary cosmetic Vaseline. Apply a thick layer to your lips and leave it on for about 3-5 minutes. This time is necessary for the product to interact with the lipstick. Due to the oil it contains, Vaseline binds with and breaks down the oils and waxes usually found in long-lasting lip makeup products. After the time has passed, take a cotton pad or napkin and carefully remove the remaining Vaseline from your lips. The procedure can be repeated if necessary.

Method number 2: using oil

Cosmetic oil has the same effect as Vaseline. Coconut is best suited as it is considered hypoallergenic and has no side effects or contraindications. It should be applied to the lips and left for at least 3-5 minutes. Then carefully remove any remaining oil with a paper towel or cotton pad. If the pigment has not disappeared completely, the process can be repeated.

Method number 3: using concealer

This life hack, which went viral a few years ago, is not standard but very simple. Apply the concealer alternately to your lower and upper lips and wipe off the product with a paper napkin. Most likely, the pigment will not be completely washed off at once, so the manipulation will have to be repeated several times. However, the biggest advantage of this method is that it is faster than the previous ones.

Method number 4: using lip balm

The formula of any lip balm contains oils, so it can cope with long-lasting lipstick. So if you don’t have Vaseline or coconut oil on hand, you should definitely have lip balm. Apply the product to your lips in a thick layer and leave it for about 3-5 minutes. Then take a cotton pad or paper napkin and remove the balm with a confident movement.

Method number 5: using baby cream

The simplest baby cream can also help in this difficult matter. Apply a thick layer to your lips and leave it for 3-5 minutes. Once the product has taken effect, take a cotton pad or tissue paper and remove any residue.
