Once one of Hollywood’s best-kept beauty secrets, fake nails are making a comeback. They are regularly used in fashion shoots when a model needs to try on multiple looks in one day. And all the non-standard manicures that you see on regular guests of the red carpet – Rita Ora, rapper Megan Thee Stallion, Megan Fox and other Hollywood stars – are tips (read: fake nails).

False nails are a real salvation for celebrities’ social appearance. Now there are many nail artists who specialize in creating original tips (by the way, we wrote about them here). But fake nails are becoming increasingly popular among a wide audience and you can find them in any market.
They have changed a lot in the past few years and now have nothing in common with the sets that could be found at any kiosk in the mid-2000s. Additionally, more and more different options for fake nails are emerging. More recently, hardening stickers that resemble stickers have appeared. You just need to separate them from the film, stick them to your nails, file off the remaining ones and hold them under a UV lamp for a while so that they “settle” and harden. How the final result will look directly depends on your manicure skills and the quality of the stickers.
Another reason why false nails began to gain popularity not only among celebrities, but also among a wider audience is the mass rejection of gel polish. In this case, fake nails become a good option to diversify your look, try something new for yourself without going to the salon. How to properly glue fake nails?
Below you will find the instructions you can use in case you purchase a spontaneous set of fake nails.
– First thing to do prepare your nails. It is most reliable to attach the tips to a short nail plate, so it is better to cut your nails first. After this, it is important to degrease your nails. This can be done with nail polish remover or an antiseptic wipe.
– Next step – cuticle treatment. It should be moved back a little to make room for the fake nails.
– The next one is coming try on fake nails and selection of suitable ones.
– Now you can proceed to the procedure itself. Cover your nails with a special base polish to protect them from glue. The latter often comes with clues. But many brands release their own versions of glue (or special stickers) separately, so the choice is yours. Cover the nail plate with a thin layer of glue, attach it to the false nail, bring it as close to the cuticle as possible and press for 10-20 seconds. If desired, you can adjust the shape with a file.
