A memorable advertising campaign for a fragrance is the key to its popularity among customers. After all, who among us wouldn’t want a bottle of J’adore Dior after watching the video of Charlize Theron in the golden dress? We personally cannot boast of such endurance. Popular stars are always chosen as the faces of the perfume and the videos are prepared by the best directors. Only one question remains: How many millions of dollars does a one-minute or even 30-second video cost? We tried to find out just that by compiling a ranking of the most expensive fragrance advertising campaigns in the world.
Chanel No. 5
In 2004, Chanel featured the famous director Baz Luhrmann (he directed “The Great Gatsby”) for Chanel No. He commissioned her to advertise her perfume. 5. Their main faces were the young stars of the silver screen Nicole Kidman and Rodrigo Santoro.

No expense was spared in creating this epic advertising campaign. Chanel financed the project with a whopping $42 million, making it one of the most expensive perfume advertising campaigns ever created.
CK One – Calvin Klein
The 1993 Calvin Klein CK One advertising campaign went down in history as one of the most expensive and successful campaigns. The black-and-white video features British model Kate Moss, the unsung ambassador of the popular “heroin chic” trend at the time. The 30-second video featured people from all walks of life, from couples to elderly women.

More than two decades after the iconic commercial’s debut, CK One eau de parfum remains one of the most popular perfumes today. Meanwhile, Kate Moss was also the face of the brand’s other fragrances.
J’Adore – Dior
The advertising campaign for the J’Adore Dior fragrance is one of the most discussed and ambitious initiatives in the beauty and perfume industry. LVMH (which includes Dior) is committed to taking its advertising to the next level and creating a compelling story for the fragrance.
His collaboration with actress Charlize Theron began with this commercial. The actor ironically recalls that he was offered to become the face of the brand after winning an Oscar for his leading role in the movie “Monster”, for which he had to gain 10 kilos. The collaboration was a success: Theron is still the face of the fragrance.
Sauvage – Dior
Perhaps the most memorable (and expensive) ad for men’s perfume to date is Dior’s Sauvage, featuring Johnny Depp. Interestingly, Dior did not terminate its contract with Depp despite his ex-wife Amber Heard making accusations against the actor. By the way, this was the only company that did not stop cooperating with him. And in the end he won with Depp. Demand for the fragrance has nearly doubled since the start of the trial. It seems that not only buyers, but also the brand itself, can no longer associate Sauvage eau de parfum with anyone other than Johnny Depp.
Diamonds – Giorgio Armani
The face and voice of Diamonds Giorgio Armani perfume is 25-year-old Beyoncé. During her performance, the cult song “Diamonds are a girl’s bestfriend” was sung. The ad was broadcast everywhere, both on television and in cinemas, signaling to the audience that they should be fearless and confident. It’s no surprise that Giorgio Armani Diamonds is one of the most successful fragrances released in 2007.
