How to Get Mariah Carey’s Voluminous Curls in Her Stunning Christmas Video “It’s Time.”

1. “The first step to take Mary’The look is to wash and condition your hair. We recommend starting with clean, damp hair.
2. “Second, when prepping your hair, apply a heat protectant and mousse to moisten it. These products not only help protect your hair from heat damage but also enhance a great wave design.
3. “The next step is to dry your hair, here I used the Dyson Supersonic™ Professional Edition hairdryer AS professional concentrator to attach dry your hair to about 70%. I suggest focusing on removing as much moisture as possible without combing it out completely yet.
4. “Then you will want to divide the hair into sections; breaking it down into manageable sections. You can use clips to keep sections separate.
5. “Obtain Mary turtle’curls, I used Multi-style Dyson Airwrap™. A great tip for the next step is to choose the right pipe! We recommend selecting the rod size on the Airwrap that matches your desired wave size. MaryThe waves tend to be big and bulky, so I tend to use the largest rod. In this case I used the 2 inch long Airwrap™ shaft.
6. “Next, you will begin to curl your hair by holding each strand and wrapping it around your chosen Airwrap barrel for about 10-15 seconds. Then apply a cold pump for 5-10 seconds, release and let dry and don’t brush your curls yet!
7. “Continue this process with each strand of hair and be sure to alternate the direction of the curls in each strand, as this will create a more natural, voluminous look, i.e. some curls towards the face, some towards the outside.
8. “Then, gently run your fingers or a wide-toothed comb through your hair to loosen curls and form voluptuous waves. I recommend avoiding using a brush because it can leave your hair very soft.
9. “The last step is to apply a light hairspray or styling spray to really set the waves. I also like to add a little hair oil or serum just to the ends to make them shiny.
10. “If you want more volume at the roots, for example Mary turtleYou can gently comb your hair from the top or apply a volumizing product to the roots.
11. “The key to achieving success Mary turtleThe waves are volume, softness and a touch of glamour. “Each person’s hair is different, so it’s always advisable to adapt the technique to the type and length of your hair.”
