Dry VS cream: Which blush to choose?

Each texture has its own benefits. For example, creams look more natural, while dry ones work best on oily skin.

dry blush

Pros: easier to adjust color saturation; rich color palette; Suitable for all skin types including oily

Cons: can emphasize peeling; requires a brush for application; brittle – they can break if they fall or on the way.

cream blush

Pros: create the effect of “wet” skin; look like a natural blush; applied with fingertips; Easier to remove excess product.

Cons: “sitting” on oily skin.

Which blush tone to choose?

In fact, there are no clear rules about which color tones are suitable for which skin tone. You always need to look at the image of the person as a whole. But there are some color hints.

peach. This shade is suitable for creating a natural blush or giving the skin a light tan.

Pink. It is appropriate if the image is gentle and cute. Also for natural blush.

purple. If the casual look and bright shades do not suit it, it is better to use purple.

cold pink. The blush of this shade is universal and will suit absolutely everyone. They perfectly imitate blush in the cold, and the image is as fresh as possible.

5 tips for applying blush

The main advice is not to be limited to just the cheeks.

– Apply blush to the upper part of your cheekbone. This arrangement creates a lifting effect and corrects facial features.

– Vertical application of blush diagonally across the cheekbone makes the face appear narrower and slimmer. Horizontal application visually expands the shape of the face. Round shading on apples softens the square shape of the face.

– For a harmonious look, you can add a little blush to the crease of the eyelid (diagonally, extending to the temple), the forehead, and lightly touch the nose and neck.

– It’s definitely not scary if you overdo it. Take a damp sponge with the remaining tone and gently tap to remove any excess.

– Use your fingers to apply cream blush. And for “candle” shaped dry brushes. You need to apply it in wide, sweeping motions. The main thing is that the brush should not be too narrow, otherwise there is a risk of applying stripes.

Drape is the biggest makeup trend.

This is a face fix that uses several shades of blush. The draping technique, which could only be seen in models participating in fashion shows, is now used by Hollywood make-up artists and the stars themselves.

The technique helps to properly and naturally correct the shape of the face. Draping combines shaping and striking. That is, she corrects the face with color and light – blush and illuminator. This technique will give you a few hours of sleep (sorry, not real), rejuvenate your complexion and smooth out the oval.

How to repeat drape?

Ideally, two shades of blush are required for draping – dark and lighter. It can be both shades of pink and more brown. Creamy or dry, it doesn’t matter. The main thing is to use blush of the same texture.

1. Powder the cheekbones and cheeks with a wide brush before applying the dry blush. This is necessary for good shading of the blush.

2. Apply a darker blush diagonally along the cheekbones.

3. Apply a lighter shade of blush on the brow, temples, bridge of the nose and protruding chin.

4. Use a highlighter to add shine to the face and make it more embossed. Apply under the eyebrows, on the protruding part of the cheekbone and on the chin, above the upper lip.

5. As a result, you can add some bronzer to the protruding areas of the face (usually the parts that tan the fastest in the sun). Start at the hairline, gently touch the cheekbones, temples and eyelids.

By the way, it can be draped even with a single lipstick. The main thing is to choose the right shade!
