Insiders have revealed that Doctor Doom and the Hulk will appear together in a post-credits scene for the extended version of Avengers: Endgame.
The upcoming release of the expanded cut will link the 2019 superhero movie to the future feature film Avengers: Doomsday using extra scenes. Industry insiders reported that while both characters are featured in the post-credits footage, exact details regarding what the two characters will be doing in the scene remain unknown.
The extended version of the film will incorporate deleted scenes and additional episodes omitted from the final 2019 theatrical cut. The specific scenes included in the new version have not been identified, but the total runtime of the added material will measure approximately four minutes.
Connecting Marvel blockbusters
Avengers: Endgame was originally released in theaters in 2019 as a major entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, functioning as the climax to the franchise's Infinity Saga storyline. The Marvel Cinematic Universe, produced by Marvel Studios, is a connected media franchise centered on superhero characters adapted from Marvel Comics.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026. Many cast members from Avengers: Endgame are set to appear in the upcoming film, with actor Robert Downey Jr. starring as the primary villain, Doctor Doom.
Robert Downey Jr. previously played superhero Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man, in the Marvel franchise for more than ten years. Doctor Doom, created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, is traditionally portrayed in Marvel comic books as a tyrannical monarch and scientific genius named Victor von Doom, while the Hulk is the powerful alter ego of scientist Bruce Banner.
Following the 2026 project, filmgoers can also expect the release of Avengers: Secret Wars in December 2027. Official details regarding Avengers: Secret Wars have not yet been released by the studio.
