Greek singer Anna Vissi's lawyer has rejected claims of a legal fallout with composer Nikos Karvelas following her major concert at the OAKA stadium in Athens.
Speaking on the morning television show To Proino, attorney Michalis Dimitrakopoulos clarified that a production company paid Karvelas around 300,000 euros prior to the performance, denying reports of unresolved financial friction.
Dimitrakopoulos stated that Karvelas did not attend the concert for his own reasons, but confirmed there are currently no financial disputes between the production company of Mrs. Kousta and the composer. He emphasized that no lawsuit or extrajudicial notice has been served by either side.
The lawyer added that as long as he represents Vissi, it is out of the question that the pair will end up in a courtroom. He invited Karvelas or his legal counsel to contact him directly by telephone to resolve any misunderstandings through friendly discussion.
Vissi, born in Cyprus, is widely recognized as one of the highest-selling female recording artists in Greece, having built a career spanning five decades across pop and theatrical music. Karvelas, a prolific Greek composer and producer, was married to Vissi in the 1980s and composed many of her biggest hit records, establishing a long-standing creative partnership.
Concert losses and upcoming Athens events
Addressing speculation regarding revenue from the stadium show, Dimitrakopoulos explained that the event did not generate profits, but instead resulted in a substantial financial loss. He stated that financial claims cannot be made on non-existent profits, reiterating that all terms agreed between Vissi and Karvelas were fully honored.
The attorney revealed that a major event for Athens standards is scheduled for October 27 and October 28 involving Vissi. He noted that having Karvelas by their side is essential for the success of the upcoming production, adding that the composer is aware of this requirement.
Dimitrakopoulos declined to elaborate on Vissi's personal emotions following the incident, stating that her feelings represent personal data that he would not discuss publicly.
In Greek legal practice, an extrajudicial notice is a formal written warning served prior to initiating official litigation. The comments were delivered during To Proino, a long-running morning magazine program broadcast nationally in Greece on ANT1 television.
Absence at Olympic Stadium performance
The concert took place on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Olympic Athletic Center of Athens (OAKA), attracting a crowd of more than 95,000 spectators. Located in Marousi, Athens, the stadium complex served as the main venue for the 2004 Summer Olympic Games and is the largest entertainment facility in Greece.
Karvelas was noticeably absent from the stadium show despite having actively taken part in rehearsals and pre-concert preparations. His absence prompted intense public discussion and media reports alleging that a heated financial dispute occurred shortly before the performance.
Despite his absence on the night, Vissi paid tribute to Karvelas during her set, addressing the audience from the OAKA stage and calling him the composer of her life, highlighting his continued importance to her career and personal life.
