American Michael Villena has named Ternopil as the best city in Ukraine in a recent Instagram video listing his top ten national destinations. Villena, who has lived in Ukraine for a long time and married there, called Ternopil a fine city and his personal favorite.
Lviv took second place on his list, which Villena said belonged in his top three even if it was not his top pick. Lutsk, where Villena currently resides, rounded out the top three spots. Kyiv placed fourth, with Villena joking that the capital belonged in the top three but had to take fourth because the top positions were already occupied.
Top Ten Cities and Foreign Perspectives
Kharkiv took fifth place after Villena highlighted its comfortable street benches. His top ten ranking also included Kamianets-Podilskyi, Poltava, Cherkasy, Odesa, and Zhytomyr.
The report noted other foreign perspectives on Ukraine previously published by UNIAN. A British traveler who visited every former Soviet republic ranked Ukraine third among those nations, praising its unique culture, cuisine, people, and varied cities. UNIAN also previously reported on a British woman living in Ukraine for several years who admitted to having misconceptions before moving, saying she was most surprised by the high development of banking, digital state services, street safety, and the warm climate.
