The comedy series Widow's Bay dominated this year's Primetime Emmy Awards, winning 14 of its 19 nominations to become the ceremony's biggest winner. The medical drama The Pitt finished as the night's second-biggest winner.

Comedy Series Winners
Widow's Bay's haul included Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for Hiro Murai, Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for Katie Dippold, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Matthew Rhys, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Kate O'Flynn and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Stephen Root.
Jean Smart won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Hacks, the comedy in which she plays a veteran stand-up comedian.
Drama Series Winners
The Pitt won Outstanding Drama Series, and its star Noah Wyle, previously known for playing a doctor on ER, took Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. The Pitt is set in a Pittsburgh hospital emergency room.
Rhea Seehorn was named Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Pluribus, created by Vince Gilligan, who also won Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series. Gilligan is known for creating Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, on which Seehorn also starred. Slow Horses won Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series. Allison Janney won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for The Diplomat, and Tom Pelphrey won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for Task.
Limited Series Winners
The limited series GKS: St. Louis was named Outstanding Limited Series and also won for its writing and directing. David Harbour, known for Stranger Things, won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series for the show. Matthew Rhys won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series for The Beast in Me.
