Ukrainian actress Iryna Kudashova has gotten engaged to her partner during a surprise trip to Lake Como in northern Italy.

The 26-year-old screen star shared photos and video clips of the proposal on Instagram on August 25, confirming that the event took place on August 8.

Kudashova, who is known for her role in the Ukrainian television series Shkola, said the engagement was a complete surprise arranged by her partner, whom she identified as Borys. He organized a staged photo shoot as a cover story, ordering a dress for her and hiring a makeup artist so she would suspect nothing until the proposal occurred.

The proposal took place beside Villa Balbiano, a historic luxury estate on the shores of Lake Como. Kudashova said her partner played the Taylor Swift song Love Story as he asked her to marry him. She recalled crying with happiness during the proposal and said she was so overwhelmed by emotion that she remembered little else about the moment.

Private relationship and screen career

Describing the event as the happiest day of her life, Kudashova said the experience felt like a fairytale for a princess. She added that the moment fulfilled a dream she had never thought possible, noting that she did not realize such a fairytale could be created in real life.

Kudashova has kept the identity of her fiancé largely out of the public eye. She previously revealed that Borys has lived abroad for several years, works for a major company, and is not a public media figure.

Kudashova gained public recognition in Ukraine for her starring role in Shkola, a television drama series following the lives of high school students. Lake Como, located in northern Italy's Lombardy region, is a famed resort destination known for its alpine scenery and historic villas, including the 18th-century Villa Balbiano in Lenno.
