Actor Matt Rogers is trying to give fans some hope i love it for youthe first-year showtime comedy directed by and starring Vanessa Bayer.
I recently spoke with the Earwolf podcast TV, I say with Ashley Ray, Rogers announced that the second season has already been written, but the show has not yet been renewed. It is currently the only comedy series on Showtime and one of many shows waiting for pickups.
“I know they wrote it. And now it’s something where Viacom is at the forefront, like there have been changes,” Rogers, who plays assistant Darcy Leeds, explained to Ray. “I know there is a lot of love for the program. I just don’t know if it glows green or not. What I want to say to everyone is if you like the show, let them know. They are starting to make some decisions since they just renewed Yellowjackets for a third season. They talk about building franchises out of shows, etc. I don’t really know where we are. But all I know is that everyone loves working on it, I love playing the part.
Deadline could not confirm whether the entire second season has been written.
Created by Bayer and Jeremy Beiler (Saturday Night Live), i love it for you Bayer, which premiered in April, stars as a character inspired by her own past who overcomes childhood leukemia to pursue her dream of becoming a successful home shopping channel host. SNL Alum Molly Shannon also leads the cast as Jackie, a charismatic network anchor.
Rogers’ character is Patricia’s (Jenifer Lewis) assistant, the head of SVN, a 24-hour QVC-like network.
