Goodbye Kirstie Alley: John Travolta, Yvette Nicole Brown and Jamie Lee Curtis Pay Tribute to ‘Cheers’ Actress

Tributes have already been posted on social media for Kirstie Alley, who has died aged 71. The actress who is best known for her work in cheers and Veronica’s closet was remembered for her personality, her parties and her politics.

Her death was announced on her official Instagram account with a statement from True and Lillie Parker.

“We are sorry to announce that our incredible, wild and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer that was only recently discovered,” the statement read.

alley cheers Co-star Kelsey Grammer said in a statement: “I’ve always believed that grieving a public figure is a private matter, but I have to say that I loved her.”

John Travolta, who starred alongside Alley in the film Look Who’s Talking and its sequel Look Who’s Talking Too, shared a tribute on social media.

“Kirstie was one of the most extraordinary relationships I’ve ever had. i love you christie i know we will meet again,” he wrote.

Jamie Lee Curtis shares screen time with Alley screamed queenShe also commented on Instagram, where she wrote: “Just heard the sad news that Kirstie Alley has passed away. She was a great comedy chip on @tvscreamqueens and an adorable mama bear in real life. She helped me buy rompers for my family for Christmas that year. We agreed that we disagreed on some things, but we had mutual respect and a connection. Sad news.”

Alley’s ex-husband Parker Stevenson responded to her death with moving words on Instagram.

“Dear Kirstie, I am so grateful for our years together and for the two incredibly beautiful children and now grandchildren that we have. We will miss you. Love Parker,” he wrote.

Josh Gad took to Twitter to share his thoughts tweet“My heart breaks for Kirstie and her family. Kirsten Chenoweth shared photos with Alley on the set of Kirsti and captioned the Instagram post: “Love you Kirstie. I’ll see you again one day. Can’t believe you’re gone.”

Jackée Harry cited a 2018 tweet from Alley in which the latter expressed her admiration. Harry added“Agreed or not, Kirstie Alley was an undeniable talent who brought joy to many – through the screen and with her warm, hilarious spirit.”

Valerie Bertinelli said: “Oh, Kirstie. Rest in peace.”

On one occasion, Carradine revealed that it was Alley who helped launch her career.

“I’ll just go [sic] the news about #KirstieAlley. I haven’t talked to her in a while, but I have her to thank for starting my career. She told me I was funny every day on Veronica’s Closet and I believed her. She throws the best parties and gives away the parakeets as gifts. Thank God,’ she said tweeted.
