Screenwriter and executive producer Muirinn Lane Kelly has died aged 50.
The CEO who has credits for Waterloo Street and Lover in the UK passed away this week. More recently she was executive producer on Sky Atlantic and Epic Drama femdom.
Kelly began her career for two years at Roger Corman’s Connemara studio in the late 1990s before developing at the BBC, where she was a script editor for programs such as silent witness and wake the dead.
She later moved to Ecosse Films where she worked as a writer for BBC One’s Lover, which was later remade in the US for ABC. She went on to write for BBC School Drama Waterloo Street and Raw for Irish pubcaster RTE1 and then for Bandit Television, where it became the EP for two seasons of French comedy Dawn delicious.
In 2019 she switched to Banijay-owned Tiger Aspect Productions, where she was director of development, worked on the other side of drama-indie. She was the best producer in the last season of femdomwhich finished filming a few weeks ago.

Executive producer on the Tiger Aspect drama team and a well-known and loved colleague to many in the industry, Muirinn was a brilliantly talented creative, a mentor to many, and a fun, funny, sometimes outrageous person to be around.
“She had a real passion for nurturing and developing talent and was a fearless advocate for those she believed in. A source of inspiration and support to so many in the industry, a much loved colleague and friend. She will be greatly missed.
“Our thoughts and love go out to Muirinn’s family, friends and colleagues.
