North Carolina’s Pamela Bradshaw decided when Ryan Seacrest announced that she had become the first Powerball millionaire of 2024.
After the clock struck midnight Rockin’ night on New Year’s EveSeacrest revealed that one in five people could become $1 million richer from a second chance. A bunch of red balls were thrown into a clear container before one fell and Bradshaw emerged victorious.
The North Carolina woman was so overcome with excitement that she suffered an embarrassing headbutt on stage. Seacrest and her daughter Joanna rushed to pick Bradshaw up before she appeared and covered Seacrest in kisses as they repeated, “Oh my God.”
Seacrest didn’t know what hit him.

Seacrest tried to reassure the second-chance losers on stage by pointing out that they had seen the ball drop in Times Square and that they were about to see a Green Day show.
“And Pamela might faint,” he added.
