Another series from the pre-stream era has made its way to SVOD. All five seasons of the 2003 NBC drama Vegasstarring James Caan and Josh Duhamel will be available on Peacock starting Dec. 29, streamer NBCUniversal announced Friday.
Produced by Peacock’s sister studio NBCU TV, Las Vegas, It was Caan’s first major role in a TV series and Duhamel’s transition from daytime to primetime, and originally aired on NBC from 2003 to 2007.
While the rights of newer series are pre-negotiated, shows that aired before the late 2000s must go through an extensive music removal process before they can be released on a streaming platform.
Created by Gary Scott Thompson, Vegas follow the elite surveillance team tasked with maintaining security at one of Las Vegas’ largest casinos. The series also stars Nikki Cox, James Lesure, Vanessa Marcil, Molly Sims and Tom Selleck, who later helmed the CBS series Blue Bloods.
