A few days before the final, is the atmosphere between talents more of mutual aid or competition?
viking: No, there is no competition at all. In reality, we don’t see each other often because we don’t have the same rehearsal schedule on set. This week is very different from the semi-finals, we all have our heads on the handlebars. We’re all in rehearsals. At this level, we’ve all already won, no matter what.
How did you choose the title to hold your place this Saturday evening?
The day after the semi-finals we all met with Pascal Guix (artistic producer of the show, editor’s note) and our respective coaches. We also talked to Upstream about what we want to do with Amel (Bent editor’s note). So I started working on some titles before the semi-finals, the production asked us if we would qualify, and finally Amel told me ‘we’re going to start something stronger’ (laughs).
A directory that speaks to you?
I had a hard time identifying with the musicality, but the text of this song is so deep and powerful that I finally found a real resonance with my identity.
