Stéphane Bern revisits France and overseas this year to lead audiences to discover some of France’s most beautiful villages. Throughout the show, it will introduce the lineup set for 2023. Which village will replace Bergheim in Alsace, the winner of the previous edition?…
Bergheim, 2022
It’s not the busiest of the Alsatian villages, but tourists flocked to this medieval city the day after its victory. A year later, 900,000 copies of a stamp bearing his image were issued. Presented this evening by Stéphane Bern, the product will go on sale from 3 July.
Rochefort-en-Terre, 2016
Currently classified among France’s Most Beautiful Villages (the label has been present since 1991), this charming village of Morbihan is characterized by its slate roofs made of local schist used from the 13th to the early 20th centuries. Its success in 2016 enabled its member businesses to increase their turnover by at least 30%.
Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, 2012
Perched on a cliff overlooking Lot, it is the first village to be crowned by onlookers. As of the evening of the broadcast, the website of the tourism office has registered 4,000 visits. A month later, the number of tourists increased by 87 percent. Enough to powerfully fill the required paid parking pool.
