A few days ago, singer Bilal Hassani had to cancel a concert in Metz after receiving threats. When he and his mother and manager are invited to the set of the Daily on TMC tonight, he returns to the event that frightens him even today.

On April 5, singer Bilal Hassani was to perform in the former church of Saint-Pierre-Aux-Nonnains in Metz (Moselle). This church, which has not been consecrated for 500 years, is today a hall for concerts and events. Faced with threats, the artist canceled his visit.

On Thursday, April 6, the Metz prosecutor’s office also opened an investigation against X for “threatening to commit crimes against anyone because of his/her sexual orientation”, “inciting hatred against a person because of his/her sexual orientation” and “publicly and unenforced” charges. incitement to commit a crime or misdemeanor”.

Bilal Hassani, who was invited to the set of Daily on TMC on Tuesday evening, April 11, 2023, returned in detail to this event, which threatened the rest of his tour, accompanied by his mother and manager.

He turned to events on Yann Barthès’ microphone: “It’s very difficult. Actually, it’s scary. I was very, very scared for my safety. I didn’t get it. I always try to put blinders on the hate I get online because I think to myself it’s online, it’s not real. Keep doing what you’re doing”.

Added, moved: “but then when we saw that potentially something very serious could have happened if we had gone there, it really scared me”!

Bilal Hassani, who is somewhat disturbed by these malicious acts, admits: “We’re going to do the rest of the tour there. I’m a little scared, we’ll be awake. Usually when I leave the concert, I go straight out, go to the audience, take pictures”…

“Block yourself there”, asks Yann Barthès.

“I did it in Toulouse, but at first I told myself it was better not to do it, it was dangerous,” he said.he swears.

Bilal Hassani defends himself against this wave of hatred and the ignorance of those who accuse him of inciting a demonstration in an old church:I’m not a big provocateur. I like to make my music quietly for my listeners and always give them good energy”.

If Bilal Hassani is now focused on the rest of his tour, his mother and manager, he has no intention of stopping here. He also took legal action, as he explained on the Daily: “(…) we have filed a criminal complaint for incitement to hatred and violence, discrimination, and we will leave it be. Obviously, the complaint was made on behalf of Bilal.”
