Beijing Express (M6): What do candidates do on their days off?

The Beijing Express is a 40-day adventure in total. We’ve listed the ones you can’t see on TV.

Safety first!

The Beijing Express route is prearranged with the countries through which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs passes. Before starting, a doctor identifies medical infrastructures close to the route. During filming, two doctors and two security guards follow the racing peloton by car, ready to intervene. Each pair is equipped with a GPS tracker so they can be easily found.

Our hitchhikers always travel with a cameraman. It’s up to them to find a three-seater! The number of shooting hours varies between 4 and 6 hours on average per day.

As at a summer camp, couples are given a list of recommended attire. It’s up to them to skillfully manage their keychains. Generally, those who take on a lot of work hand over some work along the way.

Days off

Every six days, participants are given 24 hours of rest. They stay in a modest hotel on a full board basis. Opportunity to make up for them!
