second start of the season Beijing Express. On Thursday, February 23, M6 released the second part of the 17th edition of the adventure game, also hosted by Stéphane Rotenberg. After Colette and Léa were eliminated last week, seven still competitive couples had to outdo themselves in new events. There was tension and emotion in this new episode: during the final duel, Cyrille and Luc lost for a few seconds to Paloma and Jason. Unfortunately for the couple, this test was a knockout and the two candidates had to return to Breton lands. With Télé 7 Jours, Cyrille and Luc talk about their adventures as well as the disappointment caused by the elimination scenario.
How would you describe your adventure?
Luke : Maybe altitude sickness! (laughs) I had a hard time in the first episode, it was very difficult. I was in the same situation as Colette the first day, just before that. It was so hard, I dragged my paw a little.
Cyrillic : It is difficult to summarize this adventure, which is a real tsunami of emotions. We don’t even have time to look for food, we want to go so fast!
Were you a fan of the show before you were cast?
Cyrillic : We have been following the fair for a long time since we applied in previous years. However, I don’t think we can be called “fans”.
Did the intensity of the adventure surprise you?
Luke : We knew it would be difficult, but we didn’t know that after only two minutes of emission we would be asked to submerge in 6 degrees. Difficult even for Bretons! (laughs)
Did you have any difficulties during the adventure due to language?
Cyrillic : Luc, like me, has no idea about Spanish. We told ourselves suddenly that it would be difficult but we would give it the maximum. Before the adventure began, we told ourselves that we needed all couples who wanted to be in our place during difficult times. Nothing needed to be left.
Luke : We wanted to keep smiling as much as possible, especially since it’s so important not to get angry in front of people. It doesn’t matter if ten cars pass under our noses, the next one will be for us.
The goal of making your children proud should be an additional and invaluable motivation…
Luke : Obviously. We didn’t tell them anything about the course of the adventure so they could learn everything on TV. They were overjoyed when the portrait was published last week. They told us: “really you“For us, pride is not only in the result, but also in the behavior during the race. We stayed true to our values of fair play, benevolence. It was important to us.
Before the final duel, you seemed particularly surprised and disappointed to see other couples voting against you.…
Luke : We didn’t see it coming. We were in the Cute Bears world, but there are strategies applied at the end of the first episode.
Cyrillic : First of all, there were moments of fair play and help from certain couples in this scene. We didn’t do it for reciprocity, we did it naturally. This is where we realize you never paid. We never thought for a moment about being selected, so we didn’t feel the need to defend ourselves with the other couples.
To make matters worse during the secret election, Paloma and Jason initially didn’t want to confront you…
Cyrillic : I think we can objectively say that we are the first victims of the ultimate secret election.
How did you experience this intense final duel that was decided only in the last seconds?
Luke : When Cyrille called me on the street, I saw Paloma coming. I thought you’d come first, I heard you scream. When I saw Paloma, I didn’t want to believe it. This elimination remains a painful moment.
Cyrillic : No regrets about this last duel, everything was decided at the finish line. The only thing that leaves a feeling of bitterness is that we have been chosen according to our behavior in this adventure.
Did you fall in love with other candidates in this experience?
Luke : There were even a few, we are very happy to participate in this season. Some are scheduled to come home this summer! A big Beijing Express family. It may come as a surprise, but we have established contacts with former candidates.
