The Flash: Rick Cosnett, Matt Letscher and Jessica Parker Kennedy return for Season 9

Season 9 of will feature some familiar faces The Lightning. Rick Cosnett, Matt Letscher and Jessica Parker Kennedy will return for the final season, Deadline has confirmed.

An original actor, Cosnett played CCPD Detective Eddie Thawne before he died in the Season 1 finale. He returned to reprise his role in seasons 2, 3 and 8.

“We are thrilled to have Rick back as we put together our latest series of emotional and exciting episodes,” said executive producer Eric Wallace. This is especially great because Rick was an integral part of the show’s first season. So it was more than a privilege to have him back to help us close out our show’s incredible nine-year run. It was child’s play.”

Letscher returned as several different versions of Eobard Thawne and the Reverse-Flash, appearing in seasons 1, 2, 3, 7, and 8.

“We couldn’t resist having the incredibly lovely and talented Matt Letscher back for our final season,” said Wallace. “So we’ve created a very special story for him, one that we’ve been wanting to tell for a while, but haven’t been able to pull off yet. The result is a wild and bittersweet episode that we hope fans – old and new – will love.”

Kennedy was first introduced to the Arrowverse Crisis on Earth-X Crossover with episodes of super girl, Arrow, The LightningAnd Legends of Tomorrow. It was later revealed that she was the daughter of Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris (Candice Patton) from the future. She appeared in 33 episodes The LightningLast in season 8.

So having the incredible Jessica Parker Kennedy back as a fan favorite Speedster XS was always in sight,” said Wallace. “As the daughter of Barry and Iris, Jessica has already made an unforgettable mark on the history of our show. Season 9 of The Lightning Premieres Wednesday, February 8 on The CW.
