Marcus Coloma has confirmed his departure General Hospital after playing Nikolas Cassadine for three years. His departure came with the news that the actor was unable to film his final scenes. Colomo’s last performance is at the end of January.
Deadline has now learned that Coloma and ABC have reached an agreement “that he will not be allowed to film for the remaining days of the year” after “health concerns stemming from his recent exposure to Covid” recently kept him away from the soap has.
A representative for the actor also denied rumors that Coloma was fired, left the set and refused to film his final scenes. Coloma signed a three-year contract with the network in 2019, which was fulfilled this year.
In a letter to friends and fans, Coloma shared how grateful he is in a statement General Hospital Fans who supported him throughout his journey in the soap.
“I was immediately impressed by the family atmosphere of the ensemble cast,” said Coloma. “And I fell in love with the extremely passionate fan base. Her outpouring of love and excitement week after week was unlike anything I had ever experienced. I will always be grateful for their kindness and support.”

As stated in a statement from ABC, we wanted to confirm that Marcus “will no longer play the role of Nikolas Cassadine. Its final air date will be at the end of January.” Marcus signed his 3 year contract with General Hospital and thoroughly enjoyed working on the show with such a talented group of actors, writers, producers and directors. Unfortunately, due to health issues with his recent exposure to Covid, the network agreed not to film him for the remaining days of the year.
