Travis Kelce: Marrying Taylor Swift Exceeded My Dreams

Travis Kelce said marrying Taylor Swift was something that went far beyond anything he could have imagined, describing their wedding as the best night of his life in a new interview with ESPN.

Kelce, 36, and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes sat down with ESPN broadcaster Chris Berman for an interview scheduled to air on Monday, September 14. A clip released on Friday, September 11, showed Berman asking Kelce if it was true that he had gotten married. Kelce confirmed it, saying it was true, before joking with Berman that he hadn't spotted him there.

Kelce on his wedding night

Kelce went on to say he could never have dreamed the wedding would turn out the way it did. He called it the best night of his life, adding that marrying Swift meant more than he could ever have imagined because of everyone who was there and the love that filled the atmosphere.

Swift and Kelce married on July 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York. The couple invited nearly 1,000 guests, including several of Kelce's Chiefs teammates.

Who are Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce

Kelce is a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, with whom he has won multiple Super Bowl titles. Swift is one of the world's best-selling recording artists, known for albums including "1989" and "Folklore." The two began dating in 2023 and their relationship has drawn intense media attention ever since, including regular appearances by Swift at Chiefs games.

Earlier comments on the big day

Speaking on the "New Heights" podcast earlier this month, Kelce had already described the couple's wedding day as a night they would never forget. He said he and Swift felt deeply grateful to everyone who attended, from the moment of their vows to seeing all their loved ones together and enjoying themselves throughout the evening.

Kelce added that hearing the stories guests shared afterward about that night made the experience feel truly magical. He said he and Swift were grateful to everyone who came, and that listening to how much fun people had made the whole occasion feel magical.

The full interview with Berman, featuring both Kelce and Mahomes, is due to air on ESPN on Monday, September 14.
