A 90-year-old great-grandfather fulfilled a lifelong dream when he took to the skies on his very first flight.
Malcolm Shedlow left an unforgettable memory when he flew with his family from Leeds Bradford Airport with Jet2.com to visit his son in the Dordogne, France.
Malcolm said: “I was rushed through the airport and treated like a celebrity!”
He added: “The Jet2.com team could not have been more helpful and friendly and made the entire flight experience seamless.”
On board the plane, Malcolm said the cabin crew “were very attentive and reassured me that I was in very capable hands.”

Upon landing in France, Malcolm’s granddaughter told flight attendant Tina Murphy that it was his first flight.
To make the occasion even more special, Tina presented Malcolm with one of the airline’s First Flight Club certificates as a souvenir and arranged for him to visit the cockpit and have his photo taken.
His daughter Claire Baskind said: “We are so happy that my dad had such a positive experience on his first flight in 90 years!” It was so nice to see the pictures and hear how much he enjoyed his experience.
“Meeting the pilot and being asked to sit in the cockpit was an absolute highlight that our family will remember forever.” Many thanks to the Jet2.com staff who made it very special for him.”

Malcolm has four children, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and another on the way.
The devoted family man was married to Lena Shedlow, who died a month before their 60th wedding anniversary.
Although Malcolm had never taken to the skies before, his first experience with aircraft dates back 70 years when he served in the RAF.
Malcolm contributed to peacetime conscription after World War II by performing administrative duties while called up for national service.
“My job was helping the pilots to fly, but I never got on a plane myself.” But now everything has changed thanks to Jet2.com!’ he explained.
“I really enjoyed the flight; it was an incredible experience. I look forward to flying with Jet2.com again next year as they have rekindled my desire to fly. I certainly won’t wait another ninety years for my second flight!’
He added: “If Jet2.com needs more pilots, Captain Malcolm is available!”
