A lie-flat business class seat on a long-haul plane is financially too much for most people.
But there’s a way to experience a chic suite on the cheap – for just 50p (plus Avios points).
Travel website Simple Flying has announced that British Airways will fly widebody Boeing 777 and 787 Dreamliners from London Heathrow to Frankfurt, Berlin and Dublin in February and March – all with “Club World” business class cabins with fully flat seats.
In comparison, the business class cabin on a short-haul BA flight is typically on a single-aisle aircraft with economy-style row seats, with the middle seat blocked off.
Another travel website, The Points Guy UK, further revealed that it is possible to book business class on long-haul flights for 50p plus 15,000 Avios on off-peak dates and 50p plus 16,250 Avios on off-peak dates.
In February and March, passengers can book a BA Club Suite (above) to Frankfurt, Berlin and Dublin
Citing data from Cirium, Simple Flying revealed that BA is placing Dreamliner and 777 on short-haul flights on the following days:

And when it says “Individual Suite”, it means you’re getting BA’s new Club Suite, which has a private door.
Why does BA use long-haul aircraft on these short-haul flights? Most likely because the carrier expects heavier loads.
