Panic reigned on a Russian flight today when the rear door of an An-26 aircraft burst open shortly after take-off from the world’s coldest region.
The 25 passengers’ hats flew off their heads and disappeared into the cold air as the cabin depressurized.
According to later reports, most of the passenger’s luggage was sucked out of the plane’s door when it burst open.
A video shows the visible gaping rear door of the IrAero Antonov plane that took off in minus 41C from Magan in the Yakutsk region of eastern Siberia.
The passenger filming the video is in the back seat of the plane bound for Magadan on Russia’s Pacific coast.

The door, which is used to load cargo and luggage, is usually protected from the passengers in the back of the plane.
The curtain flutters in the wind.
The pilot made a quick emergency landing at Magan in Siberia’s Yakutsk region, and everyone on board was “safe” despite the intense cold in the cabin during the drama.
The man filming the nightmare can be heard cursing in shock at the open door behind him.

A report said: “Fortunately, the 25 people on board, including the crew, were not injured.
“Some people’s heads flew into the white void.”
After boarding in the intense cold for take-off, all the passengers are believed to have been buckled up and wearing coats.

The shocking incident is being investigated.
