The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations reported that a tanker captain heard two explosions in the Strait of Hormuz off Kumzar, Oman. The agency said it received a delayed notification about the incident, which occurred about nine nautical miles southeast of Kumzar.
The vessel was transiting the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most critical maritime corridors for international energy transportation, when the captain heard the two explosions. According to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations, the tanker and its crew sustained no damage and are safe.
The agency added that there are no indications of environmental pollution. The agency issued warning notice 107-26 and advised all vessels operating in the wider region to exercise caution and immediately report any suspicious activity to authorities.
