Suvi Health has launched an artificial intelligence platform that records bedside conversations to automatically create shared treatment plans for patients, families and medical teams.
The startup will launch its first public pilot in September 2026, running a four-month trial through the end of the year. Suvi Health was created by 1842 Fund and Alloy Partners in collaboration with Mayo Clinic and the University of Notre Dame.
Unlike existing ambient healthcare systems that primarily generate clinical documentation for physicians, the Suvi platform focuses on care coordination. Ambient AI in healthcare typically refers to software that listens to patient visits to automate medical notes, but Suvi generates a collaborative tool instead. The application detects when a medical staff member enters a patient room, begins recording, and stops recording when they leave.
The platform gathers information across discussions with doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, dietitians and pharmacists. It converts those bedside exchanges into a unified task list accessible to healthcare specialists and patients.

According to MedCity News, the system can record approximately 17 daily dialogues for a patient with heart failure, a chronic condition where the heart cannot pump blood effectively. Tasks added to the shared plan might include instructions to use a spirometer, a diagnostic device that measures lung volume, or guidelines to follow a low-sodium diet.
Patients can also grant family members access to the recorded conversations and related clinical data. Mayo Clinic, a non-profit academic medical center headquartered in Rochester, Minnesota, helped create the platform alongside Notre Dame, a private research university in Indiana.

The upcoming Mayo Clinic pilot will focus on heart failure patients admitted through cardiology or internal medicine units, as well as patients presenting to the emergency department. Hundreds of healthcare professionals are scheduled to participate in the four-month test.
Suvi Health plans to evaluate the trial outcomes after the pilot concludes in late 2026. However, at the time of launch, the startup had not released performance metrics regarding system accuracy, transcription precision, or impact on hospital length of stay.

A critical challenge for Mayo Clinic and Suvi will be accurate data routing alongside transcription quality. The software must preserve medical context, distinguish formal treatment orders from casual conversation, and restrict data access strictly to authorized participants. Suvi reported that it addressed these requirements in collaboration with Mayo Clinic clinical and legal teams.
Key operational details have not yet been publicly disclosed, including audio recording retention periods, data security measures, model architecture, and clinical validation protocols. The September trial will mark the first real-world evaluation of whether automated bedside conversation tracking can improve care coordination between patients, hospitals and families.
