Screenwriters Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers are working on the scripts for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, director Destin Daniel Cretton of Spider-Man: New Day revealed in an interview with The Wrap.
Cretton said McKenna and Sommers wrote the script for Spider-Man: New Day and spent some time working with him on revisions before moving on to the two Avengers films. Justin Kuritzkes, writer of Challengers, took their place on the Spider-Man project.
Longtime Spider-Man Collaborators
McKenna and Sommers are longtime writers on the Spider-Man franchise, having written the scripts for all four of Tom Holland's Spider-Man films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Avengers: Doomsday is set for release on December 18, 2026, while Secret Wars is planned for 2027. Both films are being directed by the Russo brothers.
